JAMMU, Dec 15: In order to ensure protection of Nallahs from dumping of waste and garbage by the general public, Councillor of Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), Suneet Raina today started wire-mesh fencing work on both the sides of Nallahs and at other vulnerable points in Ward 9 here.
He took serious note of wastes thrown in open by the locals and directed the concerned Sanitary Supervisor and Inspectors to book such people under relevant laws besides fining them.
Raina requested the people not to throw garbage and wastes into the Nallahs or in open as the same results in blockage of Nallahs.
He also appealed to the people to cooperate JMC for making Jammu clean and green and said that he is committed to provide the best possible services to the people and with their coordination Ward 9 would hopefully be developed into a model Ward of the city.
The Councillor claimed that many developmental projects of the Ward are in pipeline and would be carried out in phased manner.
Residents of the Ward apprised Raina of several issues to which he assured that these issues will be taken up with the authorities and will be addressed at the earliest.
Deepak Narang, Munish Sharma, Neeraj Katoch, Raghunandan, Rakesh Sethi, Deepak Kumar and Madan Kumar were also present on the occasion.
