JMC demolishes illegal constructions, removes encroachments

JAMMU, Dec 21: Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) has demolished two illegal constructions at Shakti Nagar and Gandhi Nagar.
A handout of JMC stated that these constructions were being raised unauthorized by in violation of the building plan and action was initiated under the provisions of J&K Control of Building Operation Act 1998.
The demolition operation was carried out on the directions of JMC Commissioner.
Further, JMC has also removed illegal hoardings from Gujjar Nagar, Panama Chowk, Zorawar Chowk, Gole Market, Gadhi Nagar and Satwari areas.
Apart from this the encroachments made by the shopkeepers by keeping their material outside their shops was also removed from the Upper Gumat, Gumat Stairs, Lower Gumat, Vivekanand Chowk, Sunder Singh Road and Mohalla Paharian, Jammu.
