JAMMU, Dec 24: The Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) here today demolished ongoing illegal construction at Valmiki Road, Gandhi Nagar as the same was raised in an unauthorized manner violating the building plan.
The JMC initiated action under the provisions of J&K Control of Building Operation Act 1998 and appealed general public to refrain from illegal constructions and get building plans approved from JMC before starting construction work.
It also asked shopkeepers to keep their material inside their shutters to avoid encroachment.
The demolition operation was carried out on the directions of JMC Commissioner.
