JMC machinery demolishing unauthorised construction at Nanak Nagar on Monday.

JAMMU, Nov 11: Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) demolished under construction building at Nanak Nagar.
The construction was being made along the outer edge of the nallah in violation of norms set by the Sewerage and Drainage Department. The violator though produced building permission but it was not matching with the ground position with respect to site plan and existing nallah. The permission was purportedly given on mis-representation of facts. Besides, the officials involved in according building permission ignored the ground realities and said permission was processed in violation of norms.
The demolition was conducted to allow smooth flow of nallah without any hindrance.
JMC also removed unauthorized encroachment of public lane in A/D Block which has been made despite repeated warning to the violator and previous action taken in anti-encroachment drive during “Clean up Jammu” campaign.
The illegal rehries selling tobacco and other products were also seized from Gandhi Nagar area.
The drive was conducted under the supervision of Kiran Wattal, Municipal Commissioner along with Joint Commissioner, Chief Enforcement Officer and others.
