JAMMU, May 2: The Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) has demolished a pre-fabricated godown which was constructed unauthorisedly by one Harnam Singh at Sainik Colony without proper permission of JMC.
A handout of JMC stated that the demolition was carried on after the instructions of Avny Lavasa, JMC Commissioner.
In the demolition operation necessary support was provided to Ashish Gupta, Joint Commissioner JMC by magistrate and police authorities to maintain law and order and to avoid any untoward incident during the operation.
The residents of the area had also complained against the godown where the commercial activity was causing nuisance and the same was sealed by JMC in the recent past to stop such activities there.
