JAMMU, Apr 18: On the instructions of Dr Manmohan Singh, Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation and R S Jamwal, Joint Commissioner (A), JMC today, Dr Anita Salgotra, Health Officer, in the presence of other sanitation staff of Health Wing distributed dustbins at JDA Complex near Dream Land School Janipur and main road (High Court) near press lane. On this occasion president market association Yashpal Khajuria was also present alongwith the other association members.
Speaking on this occasion Health Officer apprised the markets association that these dustbins are being distributed under Swachh Bharat Mission in order to improve the sanitation of markets situated in the vicinity of High Court area.
The Health Officer also appealed the association members to cooperate with Jammu Municipal Corporation and the shopkeepers were asked to collect the garbage of their shops in these dustbins and the Safaikaramcharies of the areas will collect the garbage. They can dispose in the nearby containers / dustbins instead of throwing out of their shops. If anybody found shall be strictly dealt under the provisions of Municipal Corp. Act 2000.
The sanitation of those areas where the dustbins were earlier provided has been improved many folds. So the JMC has decided to provide more dustbins in other markets and residential areas also under Swachh Bharat Mission.
Yashpal Khajuria appreciated the Corporation authorities to take steps in order to make Jammu clean and green. He also appealed the shopkeepers to collect the garbage in these dustbin for further disposal so that the roads and lanes remain neat and clean. He also assured full cooperation to the Jammu Municipal Corporation for the success of Swachh Bharat Mission.
The other members of the association present on the occasion were Subash Sharma, Goutam, Ravi and Bua Ditta.
