JMC employee injured in stone pelting

JAMMU, Feb 28: An employee of Jammu Municipal Corporation was injured in a stone pelting incident here at Bhagwati Nagar.
According to a police spokesperson, the incident occurred at dumping station at Bhagwati Nagar, where some municipal employees along with their vehicle reached there to dump waste. As, locals of the area objected dumping of waste there, a heated exchange of words took place among them followed by stone pelting by locals.
In the incident, the vehicle of the municipality was damaged and an employee identified as Ranjit Singh (55) son of Balwant Singh, a resident of Kirpind (RS Pura) was injured. The injured municipal employee was later shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Jammu for treatment.
Meanwhile, Pounichak police has registered an open FIR in the case and started investigations.
