JMC employees arrested for cheating pilgrims, tourists

JAMMU, July 24: Bahu Fort Police arrested two employees of Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) for cheating pilgrims and tourists.
As per police sources, a complaint was lodged by Police Station Bahu Fort by Nodal Officer of Registration Centre Vaishnavi Dham Trikuta Nagar Ankush Sharma stating that some persons are charging money fraudulently from tourists and devotees on the name of token and registration at Vaishnavi Dham.
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 194/2022 under section 420 IPC was registered at Police Station Bahu Fort and investigation started.
During the course of investigation, a team from Police Station Bahu Fort led by SHO Inspector Nayat Ali under the supervision of SDPO East Syed Zaheer Abbas Jafari and SP South Mamta Sharma conducted raid and arrested two persons identified as Harpal Singh (permanent employee of JMC), son of Mukhtiyar Singh and Himanshu (temporary employee of JMC), son of Rinku, both residents of Valmiki Colony Gandhi Nagar District Jammu.
Further investigation into the case is going on.
