JAMMU, Jan 4: The residents of Om Nagar, Udhaywala falling in Ward number 61 here today raised the issues of cleanliness and sanitation and said that Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) has failed to deliver in the area.
Om Nagar Residents Welfare Association president, Vikas Diwan informed that lanes and drains in the locality were not repaired since long while a big portion of the road there has not been blacktopped.
“Many times we brought the issues into the notice of concerned officers of the Urban Local Body but even then no fruitful results emerged on ground,” he claimed.
Some locals said that the main Nallah in the area has not been covered and it also lacks safety fencing due to which many animals fall in it.
Others informed that elders in the area face problems while moving through broken lanes and water loggings are formed at many places during rains.
They claimed that the issues were also brought into the notice of ex-Councillor of the Ward, Mahinder Kumar but he paid no heed. “There are garbage dumps at many places in the locality and tile work was done selectively,” Diwan maintained adding that Safai Karamchari visits the area after repeated requests.
