JAMMU, Nov 28: Councillors of Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) expressed resentment as issues of most of the Councillors were not listened in the General House Meeting (GHM) which held here today.
Apart from this the media coverage to the proceedings of the meeting was also not allowed.
Talking to reporters, Independent Councillor, Chowdhary Sobat Ali said all the Councillors were not given time to speak in the GHM.

“We had many issues to raise and prominent among those was that of corrupt practice of Enforcement Wing of JMC which demolishes houses and shops of the poor and lets the bigwigs go scot-free,” Ali told reporters outside the JMC meeting hall.
He further said that as COVID-19 pandemic is spread to almost every corner of the city, JMC sanitization and fogging operations have been stopped.
Ali claimed that political considerations remain behind such operations of sanitization etc.
He also said that the working of JMC is seen nowhere and cleanliness in the city is left at the mercy of God.
Sham Lal, another Independent Councillor asked what is that which the Mayor wants to keep away from the media by not allowing coverage of the proceedings of the GHM.
He further said that the Mayor would have extended the meeting time to let all the Councillors to raise their issues.
Lal also said that they will continue to raise public issues using other means like protests etc.
He further said that GHM was called after nine months due to the pandemic and there were many issues which were required to be discussed.
Rashpal, JMC Councillor from Congress said the Mayor claims in GHM to have allotted Rs. 1 crore to each JMC Ward but on ground nothing like that exists as poor development speaks itself.
Similar was the concern Congress Councillor, Gorav Chopra and other Councillors who expressed dismay over the working of JMC and claimed that officers do not pay any heed to them and their phone calls are ignored.
