JAMMU, June 11: Civil Safai Karamchari Union, JMC Jammu, has threatened tool down strike on June 18 and a complete strike on June 19 if the Government does not consider its long pending genuine demands.
The ultimatum was served by Rinku Gill, president of the Safai Karamchari Union, while addressing a press conference, here today.
“During the meeting with Government on April 11, 2018, the Union was assured that all our demands would be considered for positive consideration by May 31, 2018. However, there has been no progress despite the assurance and thus we are left with no option other than to serve final notice for agitation,” he said.
Rinku Gill also listed the Union demands, which include fresh recruitment of Safai Karamcharis, regularization of services of drivers, DPC for all cadre employees, arrears to the daily wagers whose services have been regularized, sanctioning of new Municipal Colony for the Safai Karamcharis, enhancement of wages of skilled NGO, Drivers, Computer Operators and Labours working under the Government order number MJ/Estt/9879-87, dated 22-02-2018.
He appealed the Deputy Chief Minister for his personal intervention to plead the cause of Safai Karamcharis of JMC in the interest of public in general and JMC in particular. He hoped positive response from the Deputy Chief Minister and the State Government. However, at the same time, Rinku Gill reiterated that if there was no response from the Government, the Union would go ahead with its tool down strike on June 18 and a complete strike on June 19.
