JAMMU, Jan 9: Safai Saathis of Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) here today staged a protest demonstration and raised their demands.
The protest was led by Rinku Gill, leader of JMC Safai Saathis.
Gill told reporters that the JMC Mayor, Rajinder Sharma recently announced that 600 JMC workers have been regularised but there is nothing on ground regarding that.
He said that for 600 posts of Safai Saathis forms were filled in 2019 and these posts were advertised in 2017 and interviews were also conducted for these posts.
“So far the selection list for these posts has not been declared,” Gill maintained.
He informed that on December 26, 2022, JMC has issued an order that there was no hike in salary for unskilled, skilled and highly skilled workers.
The leader of Safai Saathis said that in November last year the salary of these three categories was hiked but as per the order of December 26 these workers will get salaries which they used to get earlier.
