JMC seals premises at Gandhi Nagar

JAMMU, Mar 25: Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) today sealed a building at Gandhi Nagar for violation of laws.
The premises at 90A/D Gandhi Nagar, Jammu belongs to belongs to Neelam Jain w/o Pardeep Jain, who had converted the residential building into commercial one against the prescribed land use of the area.
The premises were sealed by Enforcement Staff led by the Chief Enforcement Officer of JMC under the guidance of Soujanya Kumar Sharma (KAS), Commissioner, Municipal Corporation Jammu. The action was taken under the provision of Section 8 (1) of J&K Control of Building Operation Act 1988.
Besides this, the team visited various areas at Rail Head Complex and Trikuta Nagar near Railway Station and removed the encroachment from footpaths or pavements and seized goods like barrels, tables, chairs, utensils, containers, bamboos, tarpals, which had been erected and kept by hawkers and Rehries owners thereby causing inconvenience to the free flow of vehicular traffic and also hampering the movement of pedestrians in the area.
The sealing and anti encroachment drives have been conducted with the help of police force from police stations Gandhi Nagar and Trikuta Nagar and force from District Police Lines, Jammu.
