JMC team visits various areas to maintain sanitation

JAMMU, Oct 14: On the directions of Commissioner Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) Kiran Wattal to check the sanitation of different areas like Panjtirthi, Chowk Chabutra, Jain Bazar, Kanak Mandi, Sabzi Mandi Parade, Lakhdata Bazar etc, a team comprising of Health Officer, Executive Engineer (T), Executive Engineer (C), Municipal Veterinary Officer, Chief Enforcement Officer, Food Safety Officers, Sanitation Officers and other field staff today visited those areas already visited by Commissioner JMC yesterday.
The team was quite satisfied with the work done by Health & Sanitation staff of JMC. The local residents also appreciated the work done by Corporation. About 40 quintals of milk was checked and the shopkeepers dealing with milk & milk products were strictly warned to maintain proper hygienic conditions in their premises.
The conditions of irreparable lanes and drains was also brought into the notice of the team and commitment was made before the public that these works shall be repaired very soon.
In the evening a passenger shed was inaugurated by the Commissioner JMC near Kachi Chowni Civil Secretariat road here which was constructed at an estimate cost of Rs. 2.35 lakh. This was the long pending demand of the people which was fulfilled by the Commissioner as promised earlier in the inauguration of Sulabh Toilets at Kachi Chowni. Prominent citizens  K.K. Wadhera, Deepal Soni,  C.A. Handoo,  Kishore Wadhera, officers & other field staff from JMC were also present in the inauguration ceremony.
