JAMMU, Apr 4: Deputy Mayor, Purnima Sharma has asked the Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), Councilors to make a list of needy people of their respective Wards and submit the same to the Commissioner JMC for getting essential food items for the needy people in the Wards.
In a press conference here today the Deputy Mayor informed that this was decided after her meeting with JMC Commissioner, Avny Lavasa as the Councillors were complaining about the ration being supplied by the JMC not going to the genuine needy people.
The Deputy Mayor also said that criteria for the list will be that the beneficiaries should not be possessing Ration Cards as such people can take ration from the nearest Ration Depot.
“Also the individual had not taken any past help from the government of India regarding the essential food supplies,” she told reporters.
Sharma informed that the list made by the Councilors should be submitted to the Commissioner JMC for necessary help of the needy people.
Purnima Sharma also appealed to the public to stay indoors and cooperate with the government and police to stop the further spread of COVID-19 pandemic.
