JAMMU, Nov 19: Advocate Nitin Bakshi, president, Young Lawyers’ Association (YLA) of J&K High Court, Jammu today said that Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) is a defunct organization in itself as it is unable to cater the needs and necessities of inhabitants living within its jurisdiction.
Bakshi said that he had written several letters to JMC regarding several encroachment issues and has even brought several burning issues to the table of Commissioner JMC and the fresh cum latest in this regard is the demand of installation of four street lights but till date, this huge establishment has not been able to fulfill this meager demand.
He said that recently JMC had enhanced its jurisdictional blankets but it is not able to even cater its previous jurisdictional areas. “The only wing of JMC which is visible on roads is Khilfarwarzi wing and still it is an amazing point that instead of presence of that very wing on roads and even inside lanes, how the encroachments and illegal constructions still exist there and that too abundantly,” he added.
Meanwhile, Bakshi appealed Commissioner JMC to streamline the whole Corporation at an early on strict pattern so that the people of Jammu will have a sigh of relief from several day-to-day hurdles and obstacles.
