JAMMU : Jammu-Srinagar National Highway was today blocked by the protesters over a mysterious death of a man in mountainous Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir.
“Hundreds of protesters this morning staged a dharna and blocked the National Highway at Ramban against the death of a man, who was allegedly found dead under mysterious circumstances yesterday at his residence,” a police official here told.
He said the protesters were demanding probe into the incident and action against the culprits.
“We have assured thorough inquiry into the matter and a team of doctors has also been constituted to conduct post-mortem,” added the official.
He said the protesters dispersed after assurance and the highway was reopened after few hours and the traffic resumed. (AGENCIES)
