JNU row: BJP, BJYM, Bar hold protest in various areas

JAMMU, Feb 19: BJP and BJYM held protest in various areas over JNU incident where some miscreants on February 9 raised slogans in favour of Parliament attack convict Afzal Guru and also raised anti-India slogans.
BJP Mahila Morcha activists under the leadership of State President Purnima Sharma held protest at Swami Vivekanand Chowk.
BJP SC Morcha activists led by State President Surinder Bhagat alongwith senior leaders Bansi Lal Bharti, ND Rajwal and others held massive protest at BC Road to register resentment against JNU incident and the role of opposition parties.
The District Unit of BJYM also held protest at Kishtwar over JNU incident. A protest rally was organized, which was led by Ashish Sharma, District president, BJYM, Kishtwar.
BJP Mandal Bhaderwah organised a rally under the leadership of its President Ramneek Manhas. The rally was attended by various senior party leaders. The protestors warned people of the country to remain vigilant about the divisive policies of Congress which has already sowed seeds of hatred among people merely to remain in power.
BJP torched the effigy of the Congress at Shaheed Bhagat Singh Park, Kathua in protest against JNU incident under the chairmanship of district President Pren Nath Dogra.
Meanwhile, BJYM under its State President Dr Suresh Ajay Magotra, organized havan yagya at Pt Premnath Dogra Chowk with BJP State President and MLA Sat Sharma as chief guest. Sat Sharma, while speaking on the occasion, said that the recent incident in JNU was very unfortunate and even more unfortunate had been the role of some opposition parties, Congress in particular. MLC Ashok Khajuria, BJP State Vice-President Yudhvir Sethi, State General Secretaries Dr Narinder Singh and Harinder Gupta, State Secretaries Sanjay Baru, Anil Parihar and Vikran Randhawa, Suresh Jamwal, MLA Rajesh Gupta, etc were also present.
Convener, Democratic Panun Kashmir, Ravinder Jalali expressed concern over the JNU incident and demanded appropriate action against the students involved in it.
J&K High Court Bar Association Jammu also observed strike in Jammu Courts over JNU incidents.
