JNV Gharota implements NEP to revamp education system

JAMMU, July 23: In order to make education student centric, accessible and inclusive, JNV Gharota, a coeducational residential school under the Ministry of Education has started implementing the New Education Policy (NEP) 2020 from this academic session.
The teachers are attending the training conducted by NCERT. They have got trained in ICT, use of different pedagogies to make teaching learning effective and prepare students for 21st century skills. The students are taught about the use of technology from 6th class so that it does not come like an alien thing in their later stage.
The Vidyalaya is embracing technology in education with open heart. Experiential learning is given priority. Students are provided opportunity to visit museums, IITs, IIMs etc. Different pedagogies are used in teaching learning process and much emphasis is laid on promoting internships, field visits, fostering a culture of innovation and creativity among the students.
Principal of JNV Gharota SK Bhat said that NEP is definitely going to reduce rote learning among the students, promote critical thinking, problem solving skills, provide multilingual education and promote vocational education. He said that the NEP will provide equitable access to quality education irrespective of socio-economic backgrounds, gender or physical abilities.
