JAMMU, May 9: A Job Fest was organized today by the Department of Technical Education, Government Polytechnic, (Bikram Chowk) Jammu, in collaboration with CT Group of Institutions, Jalandhar, at the auditorium of Government Polytechnic, Jammu.
The Fest was inaugurated by Minister for Technical Education, Imran Raza Ansari, who was the chief guest. Rakesh Gupta, president, Chamber of Commerce and Industries, Jammu, was the guest of honour while Director, Technical Education, Parvez Iqbal Khateeb, also graced the occasion.
The Job Fest was organized with an endeavour of providing employment opportunities to Polytechnic students of Jammu Division in 14 renowned multinational and national companies such as Click Labs, Tyco Electronics (Hiring by Refre Me), Videocon, Embrix Infratech, IEC Gensets Ltd, Sofcon India (P) Ltd, Kirloskar Oil Engine Ltd, Ginger Web (P) Ltd, Dream Waiver Group, Excel Technology & Security Services, Indo Tech, etc.
These companies conducted their placement process for the final semester students of 2015 batch and pass-out of 2014 batch of all branches. Only those candidates were eligible to appear in the final interviews scheduled today who had qualified the pre-assessment test.
The pre-assessment test for the students of 2015 batch was held at Government Polytechnic Jammu, Samba, Kathua and Udhampur from May 2 to May 5 for all the students and test for pass-out students of 2014 batch was held today. More than 1000 students of 2014 and 2015 batch participated in this test.
A seminar on Group Discussion and Personal Interview was also organized by the expert from the CT Group of institution, Jalandar, for final semester students on May 2015 at Government Polytechnic Jammu.
Dr Manoj Kumar, Director, CT Group of Institutions said that Job Fest is one of the most remarkable events that bring together organizations from various sectors including Government, non-Government, private, international and bilateral organizations under one roof with highly competitive and professional job seekers; thereby serving as the platform for an open and wide-ranging employment opportunities.
