JAMMU, Jan 25: A delegation of Vocational Trainers, working in various schools of J&K, called on Director SAMAGRA Shiksha Jammu and Kashmir, Arun Manhas and demanded a proper job policy for their regularization.
The delegation, led by Pawan Sharma, member NMCME, MHRD, told Director SAMAGRA Shiksha that VTs in J&K were not being paid their due salaries for the last six months. He explained that all VTs (700 in numbers) are highly qualified and on the verge of their overage.
All the VTs are working hard and have shown good results in J&K State and hence they may be taken directly under SAMAGRA Shiksha with same salary structure, Pawan Sharma stressed and informed that there was already a provision available in MHRD policy, according to which VTs can also be hired directly removing the contractors called VTPs (Vocational Trainer Providers).
Arun Manhas, Director Samagra Shiksha, J&K, after giving patient hearing to the delegation, assured early disposal of salary issue and said that he would take up remaining issues with the concerned authorities for early redressal.
