JAMMU, Nov 27: Terming the Union Government’s reported move to hold the parleys with separatist Hurriyat Conference unfortunate, the leaders of Joint Forum of KP Organisations a conglomerate of over six organisations of displaced Pandits and Sikhs today warned that they will not allow any dialogue till the issue of displaced Pandits is settled as per their aspirations.
The conduct of the Government in allowing the meeting of the Kashmiri secessionists with Sartaj Aziz Advisor to Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharief smacks of deep rooted conspiracy to weaken the Indian position on Kashmir, Joint Forum leaders Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo, H L Chatta, H N Jattu, D N Kissu, S Prem Singh, president KSDF and Virender Raina told reporters here today.
They said this displays a complete policy paralysis on Kashmir and nationalist forces in the State including KPs will not allow this to happen at any cost.
If we had to compromise and surrender before the separatists and joined them, then no migration at all would have taken place, said Mr Chrungoo, adding that before holding parlays with the separatists the Government should settle the KPs issue by fulfilling their aspirations as per the Margdarshan resolution of 1991.
They said KPs completely reject all such moves and appeal the Government to settle the geo-political issues concerning them and other minorities and then go on conducting murky business on Kashmir. The KPs and Sikhs who are the indigenous people of Kashmir, have the first and natural claim on the territory of Kashmir and there can be no bargaining on the issue without taking into consideration the right of KPs and other minorities.
They said KPs welcome the visit of the Prime Ministerial candidate, Narendra Modi to the blessed city of Jammu. “ We fervently hope and believe that Mr Modi would address the issues concerning a vast population of the refugees and displaced people of Kashmir. Mr Modi’s visit has the potential to bolster the morale of the nationalist forces in the State, they added.
They said it is hoped that Mr Modi would give befitting and statesmanlike response to the anti India rhetoric and activities in this sensitive State.
