JAMMU, Mar 17: Joint panel  of J&K Govt Employees Joint Action Committee (GEJAC) and J&K SRTC Workers Union have recommended adoption of for adoption of All India Trade Union / All India State  Govt Employees Federation pattern/ bye-laws.
A spokesman of the GEJAC said that six-member committee headed by  senior trade unionist Rafeeq Ahmed Khanyari, assisted by five other members- Babu Hussain Malik, Joginder Singh Manhas, Parshotam Sharma, Madan Sangral and Paramjeet Singh today submitted the report to the Central body.  It recommended that adoption of All India Trade Union bye-laws was the need of the hour  in the present scenario instead of J&K State Govt Employees United platform framed bye-laws in November 1991.
The committee for the purpose was constituted at the State level convention of the GEJAC held on February 13, 2013 in Jammu. It was felt by the members that Bye-laws of 1991 have failed to bring broader unity and give more strength to the employees’ cause and therefore, there was urgent need to review it.  The panel studied by-laws of at least seven Central Unions and then recommended its report.  The panel has opposed the direct association of the retired employees in the trade union activities.
