JAMMU, Dec 31: Minister for Tourism and Culture, Nawang Rigzin Jora and Minister of State for Tourism, Culture and Home, Nasir Aslam Wani today released 2013 year calendar of Jammu and Kashmir Tourism Development Corporation (JKTDC).
The calendar showcases various hotels and restaurants of the Corporation.
Mr Jora on the occasion said that JKTDC has achieved new heights for making the Corporation more commercial and profitable. He appreciated the efforts of the Managing Director and management of the Corporation for bringing the Corporation out of losses by their hard work.
Managing Director of JKTDC informed that Corporation has made great strides in revenue receipts, profitability and development of personal management in the Corporation.
He said that the Corporation has been able to raise revenue receipts from the year 2008-2009 to over Rs 35 crore.
He said that historical Buddha Shah Hotel has been re-constructed at a cost of Rs 4.20 crore, which has given new look to Lal Chowk area. He said that gutted Pahalgam Club has also been re-constructed at a cost of Rs 16 crore and is slated to be completed in next financial year.
Giving further details, the MD said that new budgeted accommodation/ hotels are being constructed at Yousmarg, Sonamarg and Gulmarg which will be completed in next fiscal, there by adding to the infrastructure for tourists visiting to the State.
