Jora takes stock of development projects

SRINAGAR, May 28: Minister for Urban Development and Urban Local Bodies, Nawang Rigzin Jora on Tuesday conducted an extensive tour of several areas of Srinagar city including Jehangir Chowk, Rambagh, Chanpora, Natipora and took stock of various development activities.
The Minister was accompanied by Commissioner, Srinagar Municipal Corporation, G. N. Qasba and other senior officers and Engineers of SMC.
Mr. Jora during his extensive tour, visited Khal-Natipora, Mustafa Colony and inspected the construction work of the under construction Community Hall with utility services ,separate washrooms for ladies and gents coming up at an estimated cost of Rs.1.20 crore.
The Minister was informed that so far, Rs 66 lakh have been spent on the project which would be completed within the stipulated time frame.
Mr.Jora also visited Chanpora and inspected the construction activities on one more development project-Citizen Facilitation centre coming at an estimated cost of Rs 85 lakh where the work on ground floor and first floor is in progress. He was told that so far Rs.48 lakh have been spent on the project and the same would be completed by the end of August, this year.
Mr Jora directed SMC authorities to further improve the sanitation and drainage works of areas which are prone to water logging especially during rainy season.
