Josh of patriotism hasn’t even spared skies, Mehbooba on AI advisory

SRINAGAR, Mar 5: Taking a jibe at an Air India (AI) advisory asking its crew members to say ‘Jai Hind’ after every flight announcement, former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti on Tuesday said she is a little surprised that with General Elections round the corner, the josh of patriotism hasn’t even spared the skies.

Little surprise that with General Elections round the corner, the josh of patriotism hasn’t even spared the skies, Ms Mehbooba, who Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) president, wrote on micro-blogging site twitter.

Ms Mufti was reacting to an advisory issued by Air India asking its crew to say ‘Jai Hind’ after every flight announcement ‘with much fervour’.

“With immediate effect, all (crew) are required to announce ‘Jai Hind’ at the end of every announcement after a slight pause and much fervour,” stated the advisory issued by Air India, Director Operations, Amitabh Singh.
The advisory was meant for all crew members of the cash-strapped national carrier on Monday.
