NEW DELHI, June 17: Joshua Pollock, noted author of “The Heartfulness Way” delivered the lecture in the ‘Samvaad Series’ organised by PRSI Delhi Chapter, as a part of knowledge sharing initiatives of Delhi Chapter for the communication, media and advertising professionals and PR fraternity.
“If there’s no heart, no sincerity, you cannot produce pure music. Music produced without honesty is imitation. Similarly, you cannot remove the heart from communication because with unification of the mind and the heart, you tend to produce better results in communication”, he said.
Speaking at a jam packed SCOPE Hall, Joshua said, “PR professionals ought to understand that element of compassion is useful in storytelling”.
He introduced the audiences to the concepts of mental facilities, pull and push mechanisms and how pre conceived notions tend to develop in human beings.
“PR is all about swaying opinions and winning hearts. It is quite common to see that in order to win an argument, people tend to lose someone’s heart”, he stated.
He further clarified that liking or disliking someone is like a ripple within us. Past experiences condition our present. He also spoke about ‘Sanskars’ in Yoga (you cannot perceive reality without filtering unwanted layers).
Earlier Chairman Naresh Kumar and Vice Chairman Dr HS Paul (Delhi Bureau Chief Daily Excelsior) felicitated the speaker and SS Rao, Secretary, PRSI gave the welcome address, while Joint Secretary Sarvesh Tiwari presented a memento to speaker.
PRSI Delhi Chapter member Vinod Agrahari delivered the welcome note while GS Bawa gave the vote of thanks.
Executive committee members KN Dhawan, JP Daoundiyal, Rajat Gupta, Akshat Chopra and Tanvi Singhal were also present on the occasion.
