Jowar eases in thin trade

NEW DELHI, Sept 7:  In thin trade, jowar prices eased by Rs 5 per quintal on the wholesale grains market today on lack of demand against adequate stocks position.

Traders said lack of demand against adequate stocks position mainly helped jowar prices to trade marginally lower.

In the national capital, jowar yellow and white prices were traded lower by Rs 5 each to Rs 1,520-1,570 and Rs 2,420-2,620 per quintal, respectively.

The following were today’s quotations per quintal:

Wheat MP (deshi) 2,070-2,270, Wheat dara (for mills) 1,595-1,600, Chakki atta (delivery) 1,600-1,605 Atta Rajdhani (10 kg) 220, Shakti bhog (10 kg) 220, Roller flour mill 850-890 (50 kg), Maida 930-950 (50 kg) and Sooji 1,010-1,040 (50kg).

Basmati rice (Lal Quila) 10,400, Shri Lal Mahal 10,000, Super Basmati Rice, 9,500, Basmati common new 8,400-8,500, Rice Pusa-(1121) new 8,400-8,500, Permal raw 2,225-2,275, Permal wand 2,300-2,400, Sela 3,300-3,350 and Rice IR-8- 1,900-1,925, Bajra 1,285-1,295, Jowar yellow 1,520-1,570, white 2,420-2,620, Maize 1,455-1,460, Barley 1,160-1,165, Rajasthan 1,080-1,090.
