JPBM to launch awareness campaign against drug abuse

JAMMU, June 12: Jammu Province Bachao Manch (JPBM) today announced to launch awareness campaign against the “Youth Unrest and Drug Abuse” on non-Political levels in Jammu and Kashmir.
The decision in this regard was announced by Ashok Sharma, Chairman, JPBM in a press conference held here today.
Speaking on the occasion, Sharma urged upon the Government of India to combat corruption, price hike, unprecedented tax imposition, drug abuse, crime, unrest among youth, farmers, workmen, professionals and small traders.
Mentioning about the Permanent Residential Certificate, he said that every citizen of J&K was feeling proud to have PRC as it was once identity and pride of the people and so the Government must restore the PRC system to the people of erstwhile State of Jammu & Kashmir.
Coming heavily on the Government for not removing Ban Toll Plaza and smart meters besides levying the ‘Property and water taxes’, Sharma said that people are already facing the brunt of soaring prices of essential commodities and at this juncture burdening the poor people is insane step so it should be rolled back immediately.
Sr. leader of JPBM Kuldip Sharma also expressed serious concern over the menace of drug abuse in the Jammu and said that Government must develop a mechanism to make Jammu region a “Drug Free Zone”.
He exhorted the Government to save the culture of Jammu as outsiders are damaging the culture which is matter of serious concern.
Among others who were present during the conference included Satish Poonchi, Advocate Sumit Sharma, Ashwani Kumar Sharma and Kailash Nath.
