JPDCL disconnects connections of JKRTC, JDA, others

JAMMU, Feb 25: Jammu Power Distribution Corporation Limited (JPDCL) Gandhi Nagar and Bari Brahmana have disconnected the connections of 107 installations including JKSRTC and JDA complexes for not paying outstanding arrears.
As per official spokesman, in continuation to daily disconnection drive, the Enforcement Team headed by Assistant Executive Engineer along with Assistant Engineer, Feeder Managers and other field staff conducted inspections in different sections of Electric Sub Division-I Gandhi Nagar of JPDCL under the supervision of Executive Engineer, Electric-Division-II.
The team has disconnected 82 electric connections of defaulter consumer today in Gandhi Nagar, Bahu Plaza, Trikuta Nagar, Nanak Nagar, Sainik Colony, Channi Himmat, Narwal, Bhatindi and recovered outstanding arrears of Rs 52,20,574.
Some big installations where huge amount of outstanding arrears were pending to be paid viz JKSRTC complex, JDA complex and Mining, Handicraft, etc were also disconnected.
Meanwhile, Sub Division Bari Brahmana conducted surprise inspection at main chowk Bari Brahmana and Sehora. A total of 25 illegal hooking were disconnected and arrears of around Rs 10 lakhs were realized and a fine of Rs 5.5 lakh was imposed on violators.
The drive was supervised by Executive Engineer Narotam Kumar and the team was headed by AEE Rajeev Sharma and accompanied by AE KN Singh, Field staff Ravi, Vinod, Ragni, Sudershan, Ramesh, Gopal, Mohan, Kuldeep and Subash.
