JAMMU, Aug 6: The Jammu Power Distribution Corporation Limited (JPDCL) has disconnected several illegal power connections at Mishriwala and the adjoining areas.
Besides, penalties have also been imposed on the people indulging in power thefts.
A JPDCL official said that a team of the Corporation led by Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE) Electric Sub-Division-II Janipur, Rajani Gupta, assisted by AE Inderpaul Singh, AE IT Cell Sandeep, JE Vijay Sharma, JE Ankush Sharma, and the field staff carried routine inspection at Mishriwala and the adjoining areas on Monday to check theft of power in the areas.
During the drive, he said, several illegal connections were disconnected and heavy penalties were imposed on the defaulters.
In a statement, AEE Rajani Gupta warned that similar drives will continue in the jurisdiction of the entire Sub-Division to check the theft of power.
