JAMMU, Mar 20: Jal Shakti Department employees today held protest demonstration against the higher authorities in the department and demanded conduct of DPC of all cadres and regularisation of daily wagers.
A large number of employees of the Jal Shakti Department/ PHE under the banner of PHE United Front (PUF) assembled in the office of Chief Engineer, PHE at BC Road office complex in the morning and started protest demonstration. They were shouting slogans in support of their demands and also against the PHE authorities.
The protesting employees alleged that higher authorities in the PHE failed to resolve the pending issues of permanent and temporary employees of the PHE. They said that employees are facing stagnation since long and the DPC of various cadres has not been conducted since long. On the other hand the daily wagers are struggling for the last two to three decades. They have not been regularized despite assurance by the higher authorities.
They also demanded stoppage of recovery from the permanent employees. They said the recently retired PHE employees are not getting their dues. They are moving from pillar to the post for getting their hard earned money. They strongly demanded regularization of daily wagers and conduct of DPC of all cadre without any further delay. They said the agitation will be continued till their demands are addressed.
Prominent among those who spoke on the occasion included- Balbader Vaid, Mohd Mushtaq, Rajesh Jamwal and Ashok Kumar.
