JAMMU, Dec 20: Joint secretary (RC) & Director General National Rural Infrastructure Development Authority (NRIDA), Ministry of Rural Development, Govt. of India, Alka Upadhyaya chaired a meeting to review works being executed by PMGSY in State.
Commissioner Secretary PW (R&B) Department, J&K State Khurshid Ahmed Shah, Uttam Kumar Director (P-III & I/C P-I), Satyendra Prasad, Joint Director (Tech.), Er. D. K. Khanna, Chief Engineer PMGSY Jammu and Ghulam Jeelani Chief Engineer PMGSY Kashmir alongwith all Superintending Engineers and Executive Engineers of all PMGSY Divisions of J&K State were present in the meeting.
Commissioner Secretary PW (R&B) presented an overview of PMGSY works under execution in J&K State alongwith physical and financial status of these works. After reviewing the physical and financial status of the works and threadbare discussions, the Joint Secretary impressed upon all the officers to expedite the pace of works to achieve the fixed targets for current financial year.
It was further impressed upon the Chief Engineers to explore the possibility of using Cold Mix Technology instead of Hot Mix Technology in view of cold conditions prevailing in the state so as to achieve desired targets. Besides both the Chief Engineers were advised to expedite the process of awarding of remaining contracts so that the rural population of even last targeted habitation gets benefit of infrastructure development.
She also impressed upon the Chief Engineers to submit District Rural Road Plan and DPRs for PMGSY-II for each block of the State for its scrutiny and sanction by Govt. of India within this financial year.
