JAMMU, Mar 14: Opposing the instructions issued by the Transport Minister for plying the Inter-State buses from Narwal instead of General Bus Stand, Jammu, Jammu Tourism Action Committee (JTAC) has said that such steps would be dangerous for the Jammu traders who would not tolerate this at any cost.
Besides, the JTAC has demanded to allow all long route buses to enter the Jammu city which are being diverted from Kunjwani itself as the Jammu tourism is already under threat due to various inhibiting factors.
While addressing a meeting of the Committee, Inderjeet Khajuria, convener, JTAC, termed the instructions issued by Transport Minister, Abdul Ghani Kohli as most unfortunate and unacceptable to the trader fraternity in view of the time to time assurances given by the Government that Inter-State Bus Terminal (ISBT) shall not be shifted to Narwal. “Even the sitting Chief Minister, Mufti Mohammed Sayeed during electioneering period, had assured that ISBT would not be shifted from General Bus Stand, Jammu, while addressing a meeting of prominent citizens of Jammu, which was held at KC Residency, Jammu, he added.
