JTC accuses Govt of ignoring migrant youth in police recruitment

JAMMU, July 4: A meeting of Jagti Tenement Committee (JTC) was held here today under the chairmanship of Shadi Lal Pandita, its president.
The meeting expressed grave concern over ignoring Kashmiri Pandit migrant youth in recruitment in Police Department despite having applied for the post and having appeared in the physical tests and interview.
Pandita addressing the meeting said that various Kashmiri Pandit migrant youth who had appeared in physical tests and interview had qualified both physical tests and interview but it is unfortunate that these migrant youth have been ignored and deprived while making recruitment which shows the pathetic attitude of the Government towards the migrants in general and the migrant youth in particular.
He further said that time and again Government and Police Department authorities have been requested for conducting on spot police recruitment rally but it has not organized any such rally in Jagti Migrant township to ensure recruitment of migrant youth in police.
Mr. Pandita has said despite lapse of more than 8 years of announcement of employment package by the then Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh only 2200 posts have been filled when 3800 posts approximately are yet to be filled up. He expressed his concern over the Government’s slackness in filling up the remaining posts.
