JTC, ADKPUAC discuss rehabilitation issue

JAMMU, July 20: A Joint meetings of Jagti Tenement Committee (JTC) and All Displaced Kashmiri Pandits United Action Committee (ADKPUAC) were held at various camps and non-camps here, today.
Addressing the meetings Shadi Lal Pandita president, JTC and SKF said that the Core Committee members of ADKPUAC has elected more representatives for welfare of the community. The new representatives who have been elected are M K Yogi ,P N Pandita , Sanjeev Raina, R L Pandit, M L Munish, B K Bhat , R L Bhan , Sudarshan Ji and Dipanshu Bhat.
Pandita said the members of political and social organizations are being brought in the ADKPUAC so that there will be a united voice on this platform for the permanent rehabilitation of Kashmiri Pandits in Valley .
In a Joint statement issued by the Core Committee said that “We should unite at this crucial and difficult time’’. Pandita said that in the meeting a decision was taken that the Committee has to work on the issues of Kashmiri Pandits who are in exile for 34 years.
The Core Committee decided to stress on pressing demands and urged Government for their redressal. They included rehabilitate of Displaced Kashmiri Pandits in Kashmir Valley in three satellite townships near Srinagar, Baramulla and Anantnag, compensation for the losses of movable immovable properties suffered by the community during last 34 years, remaining ex-gratia of burnt houses should be released, monthly cash relief of relief holders be enhanced from Rs 13,000 to Rs 25,000, employment package to be given for unemployed educated youth of Kashmiri Pandits, bank loans to be given to the over- aged youth of community without interest, the illegal encroachments on the lands and religious places of the Kashmiri Pandits should be removed and religious places/shrines should be rebuilt immediately besides, minority status be given to KPs.
