JAMMU, Dec 23: A protest demonstration was held at Jagti township by the activists of Jagti Tenements Committee in support of the various demands of the inmates of township and other camps in particular and displaced Pandits in general.
The protestors also torched the effigy of coalition and raised slogans for its failure in solving the burning demands of the displaced Pandits from Valley.
The protest was led by JTC president Shadi Lal Pandita. He accused the coalition of depriving the displaced Pandits of their rights.
Pandita demanded that on spot recruitment drive for displaced youth be held at Jagti, filling up of remaining 4000 posts under PM package and announcement of one thousand additional posts for those migrant youth who due to poverty could not continue their studies beyond class 10th, compensation to overaged youth, permanent rehabilitation of displaced Pandits at secured place, one time compensation for losses suffered, restoration of encroached  properties, transport facilities and renovation of quarters at Jagti, enhancement of relief be given effect from the date the State Government had made recommendations, increase in cash relief, , repair of roads from Kandoli Mata temple to Jagti, release of balance exgratia etc.
Ved Lal Pandita, Raj Kumar Tickoo, Sunil Koul, Hari Krishan Pandita, Pyare Lal Kanth, S L Kar, Kashi Nath Bhat among others participated in the protest.
