JAMMU, Oct 14: Jagti Tenement Committee, (JTC), in its meeting at Jagti township today held under the chairmanship of its president Shadi Lal Pandita alleged that the Government has failed to settle the long standing demands of the displaced people and has only made hollow claims in this regard.
It demanded that three townships be carved out in Kashmir valley for the settlement of displaced Pandits.
The meeting also demanded enhancement of cash relief, new employment package for 10,000 displaced youth be announced out of which 3000 posts be reserved for those who are matriculate and below, on spot recruitment of migrant youth in police, compensation of losses and grant of RBA certificates to migrants of RBA areas in Valley.
Addressing the meeting Pandita expressed concern over water scarcity in Jagti township and demanded immediate construction of dug wells in Jagti township.
