JTC protests at Jagti township against denial of ration

JAMMU, Mar 28: A protest rally was held at Jagti Migrant township Nagrota by Jagti Tenement Committee  (JTC)  led by  Shadl Lal Pandita, president of the Committee.
The rally was held against the implementation of NFSA on Kashmiri migrants which caused resentment amongst the displaced people. The protestors raised slogans against the Central Government for implementing NFSA on migrants.
While addressing the protestors Shadi Lal Pandita said that since the Community has not been rehabilitated permanently hence its dependence on relief and ration has not ended so it can’t be brought under the purview of NFSA as has been the case with other people of the State.
He demanded immediate release ration in favour of the migrants at the previous scales of nine kg rice per soul with  two kg Atta and one kg Sugar, which has been kept with-held since February 2016 which has added to the sufferings of this migrants  further.
Pandita has appealed the Government for early release of ration quota of February and March 2016 on previous scales. He warned the Government and urged it not to implement the NFSA on migrants till their permanent rehabilitation in Kashmir valley.
An appeal has been made to the Governor of the State for personally intervening into the matter to ensure release of ration in favour of the migrants as per previous scales.
