JTC, SKF activists’ protest enters 106th day

JAMMU, Jan 15: A protest was held at Jagti township by the Jagti Tenement Committee (JTC) and Soan Kashmir Front (SKF) under the leadership of its president, Shadi Lal Pandita.
Addressing the protesters Pandita said it is the 106th day of the protest of Jagti Tenement Committee, Soan Kashmir Front and till date the Government has not met the demands. Pandita said,” Our protest sit-in will continue until our demands are met”.
He alleged BJP Government has failed to redress the problems of migrants during last seven years and all claims made by it have proved totally hollow as this Government could not provide justice to over seven lakh displaced people from Valley.
He, while highlighting the problems demanded enhancement of cash relief to Rs 25,000 per month, job package of 20,000 jobs with 5000 class fourth posts for those displaced youth who could not continue their studies due to poverty, establishing of three satellite townships in Srinagar, Baramulla and Anantnag for permanent rehabilitation of displaced people from Valley, free ration to migrant pensioners and compensation to displaced over aged youth with restoration of encroached properties in the Valley.
