JTC, SKF agitation enters 78th day

JAMMU, Dec 18: On the 78th day of agitation, sit in by the Jagti Tenement Committee (JTC) and Soan Kashmir Front (SKF) the activists of two organisations held a protest demonstration in the Jagti township today.
The demonstration was led by JTC and SKF president, Shadi Lal Pandita. In his address he said displaced Pandits are being deprived of their rights and accused the Government of not meeting the demands.
He said that the monthly cash relief is very low and it should be increased from Rs 13,000 to Rs 25,000 for per family per month.
Pandita demanded a Government Job to those families which have no serving Government employee and announcement of a new job package of 20,000 posts for such youths. Among this 500 class fourth posts be also announced for those youth who could not continue their education beyond matric due to poverty.
He demanded on spot recruitment for KP youth in Police and Para Military Forces besides establishment of three satellite townships near Srinagar, Baramulla and Anantnag districts of Kashmir valley for rehabilitation of Pandits.
Raj Kumar Tickoo unit president of JTC and convenor SKF and Kashi Nath Bhat vice president of JTC and SKF demanded free ration for displaced pensioners and compensation for loses to property.
