JAMMU, Mar 29: A meeting of Jagti Tenement Committee (JTC) and Soan Kashmir Front (SKF) was held today near Lane No. 7 of Jagti township under the leadership of its president, Shadi Lal Pandita.
Addressing the meeting, Pandita said that today is the 179th day of the protest sit-in which was held by JTC and SKF Nagrota. Pandita appealed Lt Governor, Manoj Sinha to issue orders to Relief Rehabilitation Commissioner that the voter cards of Kashmiri migrant voters be made by the Relief Department at an earliest. He said that Kashmiri migrants have many times filled up the forms for voter cards, registration in voter list and name of correction in the voter list which is sent to Srinagar from here by the Relief Department. But at Srinagar they are deliberately thrown in the dust bins which, prevents migrants from casting their votes and this way they are being deprived of democratic rights.
He demanded that making the voter cards of the migrants ,correcting the name in the voter list should be done in the Relief Office Jammu.
Addressing the protesters later Pandita said that the BJP Government has failed in every way in doing injustice to Kashmiri Pandits.
Pandita said that the Pandits are protesting for179 days while the State and Center Government is ignoring them and demanded immediate settlement of their demands.
