JAMMU, Aug 28: A joint of meeting of Jagti Tenement Committee (JTC), Soan Kashmir Front (SKF) and PCC Migrant Cell was held at Jagti Township, Nagrota, near here, today under the chairmanship of its president Shadi Lal Pandita. Addressing the members Pandita said that Centre and State Governments have failed to resolve the issues of Kashmiri Pandits.
He said KP relief holders are living difficult life, because the relief given at present is not enough for a family of four souls or more than that. He said that the Government is giving a monthly relief of Rs. 13,000 for a family of four souls or more than four. The relief for a family of two souls is Rs six thousand five hundred and for a family of one soul is only Rs three thousand two hundred fifty per month which is very low and which is a total injustice with them under the prevailing situation when prices have touched sky.
Pandita said that price hike has broken back of relief holders as prices of food, medicine and tuition fees has gone up. He demanded that the Government should increase the monthly cash relief of relief holder’s from Rs. 13,000 to Rs. 25,000 immediately. Further he demanded adequate compensation to be given to farmers and orchardists of the community who suffered immense loss in last 30 years.
Raj Kumar Tickoo unit president JTC convener Soan Kashmir Front Kashi Nath Bath vice president JTC, Sunil Koul and Mithan Pandita general secretary said that the Kashmir is our motherland and Government should take steps for our rehabilitation in Valley in accordance to the aspirations of the community.
They reiterated construction of three townships for the rehabilitation of Pandits in Valley.
