JTC, SKF discuss migrants’ problems

JAMMU, Nov 13: A joint meeting was organized by Jagti Tenement Committee (JTC) and Soan Kashmir Front (SKF) under the leadership of Shadi Lal Pandita, its president today.
While speaking in the meeting, Pandita expressed his grave concern over the failure of the Government in mitigating the sufferings of the Kashmiri Pandits living in exile for past more than 29 years.
Pandita said that though the Government had made a commitment for ensuring return and rehabilitation of Kashmiri Pandit migrant community in Kashmir Valley by bringing up satellite townships in Kashmir Valley but nothing has been done in this direction till date.
Pandita demanded grant of one time compensation in respect of property losses, implementation of PM’s employment package in letter and spirit, ensuring issuance of orders in favour of the selected incumbents under PM employment package, construction of additional 6000 flats for the Kashmiri migrant employees in different districts of Valley, removal of encroachments from K Ps properties as well as properties of religious temples, shrines in Kashmir Valley, reservation of three Assembly seats and one Parliament seat for KPs, construction of over 5000 flats more for migrants at Jammu, grant of minority status to KPs.
