JAMMU, Nov 23: A joint meeting of Jagti Tenement Committee (JTC) and Soan Kashmir Front (SKF) was held here, today under the chairmanship of Shadi Lal Pandita.
In the meeting various issues including those relating to Kashmiri Pandit migrants and migrant employees appointed under Prime Minister’s employment package were discussed.
Shadi Lal Pandita, while addressing the participants said that during the year 2008 the then Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh on his visit to Jammu had announced employment package for Kashmiri Pandit migrant youth with construction of 2 BHK flats numbering 6000 in Kashmir Valley to accommodate the employees appointed under this package.
He said that it is strange and surprising that present Narendra Modi Government instead of 2 BHK flats only one BHK flats have been constructed at different places in Kashmir Valley which has put the employees to sufferings who are unable to accommodate their families suitably.
Pandita said that though 3000 posts under PM’s package have been filled and yet 3000 posts are remaining to be filled up. In this connection he appealed the Government to ensure employment to one member of each migrant family.
Pandita has sought notification for inviting interview of Class IV employees published long back by Relief Organisation (M) Jammu.
He also reiterated his demand for construction of Three Satellite Townships in Kashmir Valley in Districts of Anantnag, Srinagar and Baramulla for permanent rehabilitation of displaced Pandits.
