JAMMU, Dec 11: A meeting of Jagti Tenement Committee (JTC) and Soan Kashmir Front (SKF) was held at Jagti township under the chairmanship of its president, Shadi Lal Pandita today in which problems of displaced Pandits were discussed.
Addressing the meeting Shadi Lal Pandita reiterated the demands on which the JTC/SKF has been continuously protesting for the last two years. He said that relief holders are forced to live a very difficult life as the Government has failed to increase the relief during last four years.
He said that having no other source of income the relief holders are unable to bear the expenses of education of their children because the education has also become very expensive.
He said relief holders are also not in a position to purchase the medicines for the ailing members of their families and house hold goods due to dearth of money.
The meeting reiterated its demand regarding increasing the monthly cash relief from Rs 13,000 to Rs 25,000 per family and 20,000 jobs for unemployed community youth, compensation for property loss, pending Ex-gratia relief of gutted houses, compensation for over aged youth, removal of illegal occupation from migrants property, construction of three townships in Valley for rehabilitation of displaced Pandits.
