JAMMU, Oct 11: A meeting of Jagti Tenement Committee (JTC) and Soan Kashmir Front (SKF) J&K was held at Jagti under the chairmanship of its president, Shadi Lal Pandita today.
Addressing the members Pandita said that today is the 10th day of agitation launched by his organisation and it will continue till Government meets the demands. He said that the attitude of the Government is totally callous towards displaced people who are passing through difficult times. The Government should solve the demands of projected by the JTC and SKF as soon as possible.
He said that the monthly cash assistance of relief holders should be enhanced from Rs 13,000 to Rs 25,000 for per family per month in view of sky rocketing prices, the Government should provide one job to each migrant family for which a package of 20,000 jobs should be given, out of these 20 thousand posts 5,000 Class VI posts should be given to the unemployed youth of those families who could not send their children for higher education after matriculation due to poverty and exile.
Pandita said that the Government should provide free ration to pensioners whose pensions are very low and it should meet other genuine demands which included building three satellite townships in three districts of Kashmir valley near Baramulla, Srinagar and Anantnag with political and minority status, each and every landlord should be compensated for 30 years property loss, on spot recruitment for migrant youth of camps and non camps be held in Police Department, free loans be given to over aged youth, the balance ex-gratia of the burnt houses be released, the 2 BHK sets be built for package employees in each and every district of Kashmir valley.
