JTC, SKF postpone dharna; take out protest rally

JAMMU, Nov 22: The Jagti Tenement Committee (JTC) and Soan Kashmir Front (SKF) has postponed its dharna for some time in view of the cold climatic conditions and health hazards faced by people due to cough, congestion etc. This was stated by the president of the JTC and SKF, Shadi Lal Pandita while addressing the protestors at Jagti township today.
It may be recalled that the JTC and SKF are protesting at Jagti township for last 52 days in support of their demands and today the activists of two organisations held a demonstration at the venue of dharna.
The protestors also took out a rally under the leadership of JTC and SKF president , Shadi Lal Pandita, which started from Lane No 7 to National Highway. The rally was attended by hundreds of members and they were chanting slogans demanding increase in the monthly cash relief from Rs13,000 to Rs 25,000 per family in view of soaring prices of essential commodities .
Pandita also demanded a special package of 20,000 jobs and preference be given to those displaced families who have no serving Government employee. He said the Government should not maintain a silence over the demands of displaced Pandits and take drastic steps for their rehabilitation in Kashmir Valley in accordance to the aspirations of the community otherwise history will not forget the powers that be for annihilation of a great community and civilization of India which has thousands of years long rich cultural history and which have contributed a lot to the Indian aesthetics.
He said to restore the pluralistic character of Kashmir and its age old civilization and culture the Government should take drastic steps in rehabilitation of the community in Valley their ancestral place and settle the long pending demands of the community who have been hounded out from Kashmir under a big conspiracy.
Pandita alleged that the BJP Government is not resolving the issues of Kashmiri Pandits. “We warn the BJP Government to resolve our demands as soon as possible failing which we will take extreme steps’’.
Raj Kumar Tickoo  unit president Jagti JTC  said while expressing concern over the rising unemployment among the displaced youth said that they are in great desperation as these youth have no avenues of earning after they were forced to leave their entire property in the Valley.
