JTC, SKF protest dharna enters 168th day

JAMMU, Mar 18: The protest dharna launched by Jagti Tenement Committee (JTC) and Soan Kashmir Front (SKF) entered 168th day at Jagti township near Nagrota today.
Addressing the protesters, Shadi Lal Pandita president JTC and SKF convener PCC Migrant Cell said that the activists of two organisations have been protesting for168 days but the State and Central Government is ignoring Kashmiri Pandits totally. Pandita said the protest sit-in will continue till the demands are met.
Pandita demanded that the monthly cash assistance of relief holders be increased from Rs 13,000 to Rs 25,000 immediately. He said that a Government job should be given to those families which have no Government employee. He said for this purpose 20,000 employment package should be given and also migrant youth be recruited in the police, BSF, CRPF and other forces.
Pandita demanded free ration for displaced pensioners and compensation for the losses of property suffered over last 31 years.
The protestors urged the Election Commission of India that six Assembly seats and three Parliamentary seats be reserved for Kashmiri Pandits besides settling of the displaced people in newly created three townships in Kashmir Valley.
