JTC, SKF protest enters 132nd day

JAMMU, Feb 10: The Jagti Tenement Committee (JTC), Soan Kashmir Front (SKF) continued the protest sit-in for the 132nd days today at Lane 7 Jagti township demanding immediate settlement of their long pending demands.
Addressing the protesters, Shadi Lal Pandita, president JTC and SKF said that the UT and Central Government is not listening to them while the monthly cash assistance of relief holders is very low in this era of inflation due to which relief holders are unable to make their both ends meet.
He said the Government should increase the monthly cash relief of relief holders from Rs 13,000 to Rs 25,000 per family immediately. Moreover a Government Job should be given to those families where there is no serving Government employee. He demanded that one job should be provided to each displaced family. He also demanded settlement of displaced Pandits in three townships in their homeland Kashmir Valley, compensation for left over properties and losses suffered during last 30 years and compensation to over aged youth for their permanent settlement.
